An 18-year-old Lakewood man, Gregory Croson, died late Tuesday night, February 28, from injuries he received when the blue Honda he was riding in went out of control, police said.
Police said that according to witnesses the car in which Gregory Croson was a passenger was northbound on Magnolia Avenue at about 10 p.m. when it went through a red light at Lincoln Avenue at a high speed.
The driver, who was not identified, hit the pole on the west side of the street and then hit a parked car, which was pushed into other parked cars.
Both the driver and the passenger were critically wounded and taken to a local hospital.
Croson was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m.
The driver is reportedly in serious condition.
An investigation of the accident is under way, police said.
