High School Student Killed By Car

Students at Bonita Vista High School are mourning the death of a student who was struck and killed by a car on Monday while walking near the school.

The 16-year-old student, whose name was not released, was walking on Otay Lakes Road towards the campus with a friend at around 6 in the morning. As they crossed the intersection with East H Street, a blue Toyota Sedan struck the boy, said a spokesman for the Chula Vista Police Department.

Police stated that they believe the two children were on their way to school. The car did not hit the other boy.

Initial investigation has not determined the speed of the Toyota before the accident.
