A man was killed today when a pickup truck he was riding in overturned on a local freeway, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol(CHP), the accident happened around 2:45 a.m. on northbound Interstate 805 north of Miramar Road.
The 2002 Toyota pickup truck was going between 75 and 80 mph when the driver lost control and rolled over in freeway lanes.
The victim, identified by the Medical Examiner's office as Adam Grimshaw, 22, of Encinitas, was a passenger in the truck and died at the scene, the CHP Officer Alicia Contreras said.
The driver of the truck, 22-year-old Joseph Wilson, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, Contreras said.
