A two-car accident on Saturday morning has left a Bakersfield woman dead. The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 119 and Highway 43.
The victim has been identified as Wilma Joy Dubbers, 68. She was riding in a car that was hit on the side while turning into the intersection, said a spokesman from the California Highway Patrol.
According to the Kern County Coroner's office she was killed instantly in the impact.
The driver of the car, a Toyota Camry, was Marilyn Blake, 57, of Bakersfield.
Blake was driving east on Highway 119 when she attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 43.
Carlos Cornielle, 28, of Tehachapi was headed north on Highway 43 and was unable to stop before hitting Blake's car on the passenger side.
Dubbers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blake and Cornielle were not seriously injured and they were treated at the scene.
