Woman Killed Crossing Highway

A woman believed to be in her twenties was fatally injured crossing the street after she was struck by a car.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The woman was killed around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Her name has yet to be released pending notification of relatives.
The driver of the vehicle was shaken up but was not taken into custody. The cause of the accident is under investigation, a sheriff's spokesman said.
