Blake Wrongful Death Civil Trial Will End Thursday

January 4, 2006

Actor Robert Blake testified in the final days of the wrongful death court trial following the fatal shooting of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley.

The suit was filed by Bakley's four children in a civil court and is expected to come to a close this Thursday. It will end after two months.

A court acquitted Blake, 72, of murdering Bakley, 44, earlier this year. Bakley was revealed as a con-woman following the DNA tests that showed that a child she was trying to say was Christian Brando's was really Blake's.

According to the prosecution, Blake killed Bakley in order to obtain custody the child, Rosie. Blake's defense was that she was probably killed by one of the many people that she had conned over the years.

Blake said that he loved Bakley very much and said that he had received naked pictures of her from anonymous men requesting money.

Bakley was killed on May 4th, 2001 after having dinner with Blake. Brando, the son of the late Marlon Brando, was called to the stand to describe the relationship he shared with Bakley, but he called on the 5th amendment to avoid self-incrimination.
